Set in OUAT future S7 and after VD S6. Charming is in the woods when he meets her, saving her life from one of the many dangers of fairytale land. What will ensue?

"

It was a dismal night, as a human Kat landed on the ground after falling from a portal, having just escaped a prison world and Kai. When she landed on the ground, she got to her feet. That's when she saw that she was in some woods. Then she heard a noise nearby, which made her assume that she wasn't anywhere familiar. After all, seeing a carriage being pulled by horses from a dirt road, she knew wouldn't exist where she came from. Not anymore. Those times had long since past.

After a few minutes, she decided to find out where she was, so she began walking through the woods.

After a while of walking, she stopped in the heart of the woods, seeing something huge before her. That's when she definitely knew that she was far from her world. Then it saw her and she got thrown by one of the dragon's paws. Then, as she lay on the ground, she heard hoofs. Then, when she finally looked, someone in an old time dress code was facing up against the dragon. Then, after a few minutes of fighting, she saw the stranger use his sword to kill the dragon. Then the stranger approached her and offered to help her.

"Are you okay?" he asked her, as she took his hand and got to her feet. Then she let go of him. Though she sensed that she could trust him, she was never one to take a leap of faith with strangers.

"Thanks. I'm way out of my element, but I think I'll be okay."

"Well, let me help you get home, at least," he offered, not wanting to leave her by herself. That, and he could tell from the clothes that she wasn't from this world. He figured she'd need a guide.

After a few moments of silence, thinking about it, she finally told him, "Very well. You can help me find my way back home, but don't think I'm some kind of damsel in distress, because I never have been. I'm Katherine Pierce. Who are you?"

"Prince Charming at your service. It's nice to meet you, Katherine. We can take my horse that I have not far from here. There's a way to get you home if there's a magic bean somewhere. It'll open a portal. Just think about where to go and go right in," he introduced and informed her.

"Great. Let's go then," she replied, and they walked beside each other.

When they reached the stream, sure enough, there was a white horse tied to a tree and drinking from the stream. She hadn't been around a horse for a few centuries, but she still remembered everything.

She slowly approached, as the horse finished drinking and looked at her. Then it sniffed her hand, so she went to stand in front of him. She then patted the left side of the horse's neck.

"What's his name?" she asked Charming.

        "Pegasus," he answered her.

"Well, he's a beautiful horse," she complimented. Then she added, "Shall we go?"

"Yes. Let's find a way to get you home," he replied.

Charming approached his horse and mounted. Then helped her get on behind him. Then they began their journey.

After they journeyed by horseback for a while, her eventually finding a horse she could mount and ride alongside him, which happened to be a Bay horse, she finally asked him something that she'd been meaning to ask throughout this journey of theirs.

"So, Charming, what else do I need to know about this magic bean that may or may not be here anymore?" she asked, as the horses walked next to each other. Since she'd grown up around horses back in her time, she knew how to ride without any help from anyone.

"Well, if you've heard of the story about Jack that fought against the giants, you'd know that the magic beans were grown by the giants up in their beanstalk. There was a war between the giants and humans though, because of those magic beans. The giants wanted the beans for themselves. Sometimes though, when we get lucky in a time that we need one, we happen to usually come across one."

"Well, we better get lucky then," she replied. "Otherwise, we'll have to find our own way. And no offense, but I don't want to be stuck in a fairytale land. I want to go back to my world, crazy world or not. I may not have anyone waiting for me since everyone thinks that I died and they'll never have to see me again, but my world I can deal with. This world, not so much. I know it's your home and all, but it's not mine. It never will be."

"Believe me, I get it," he told her. "When Regina was the Evil Queen, she cast a curse so she could get revenge, which took everyone's happy ending away and created a town called Storybrooke in Maine. Until me and Snow's daughter broke the curse, everyone was separated. Then, several years after that, we found our way back to this land. Storybrooke wasn't exactly our home, but we did what we could to make it that way, but also protect those that needed it and the town. A lot like Snow and I did before Storybrooke. Eventually, I lost her, but I carry on doing what we always did together. And if Regina's experience is anything to go on, there's always a possibility that you'll get more than one true love."

"I'm sorry that happened to you," she sympathized. "I know what it's like to lose people, too. It was a long time ago with my parents, but not as long with my own daughter. I never really had a true love, though. You've lived in a world outside of this land. You should know the legend of vampires and werewolves. I was a vampire for 548 years, but I didn't get to have much of a life. I had to run from a werewolf-vampire hybrid named Klaus. It was complicated with finding a way to take him down though, because his brother Elijah, and I were in love. Klaus was paranoid that people would leave him eventually though, and because of that, we weren't really together. We were off and on. Elijah has always been the moral one ever since I first met him as a human the first time around, so when I asked him to finally choose where we stood after everything we've been through, he chose his family over me, yet again. He has always left me for his family, because he thinks that he always has to protect me from Klaus. After Elijah left after I asked him to choose, I thought Elena had said something to Elijah to make him finally see that I would never be the person I was when we first met, so I chose vengeance and hatred and tried to kill her, so Elena shoved the cure for vampirism down my throat, turning me back into a human. Then time caught up with me and my long-lost daughter, Nadia, found me. Then she died from a hybrid bite from Tyler, because I was too afraid of Klaus at the time to ask for a cure, but also because all Nadia wanted for me was to be happy. Then I died after she did. Then I ended up in a prison world with a Gemini witch, so I had to deal with him and find a way out. When I found a way out, that's when I somehow ended up here, even though I was hoping for the city of New Orleans or the town of Mystic Falls. I may not know what it's like to lose a spouse, but I know what it's like to lose a daughter. I also know what it's like to lose more than one ex. While I was in the prison world, I found a way to look in on those I care about. Damon whom once loved me the most out of him and his brother is gone. So is his brother. I never looked in on Elijah or Klaus, though. I'm sure Klaus has probably changed since I know he had a daughter himself. As for Elijah, well, we've always had a rule about privacy, and I wasn't about to breach his privacy just to know what was going on with him. I can only hope that Elijah has found the happiness he's denied himself for so long. And I know what it's like to lose a mother, even though it was a little over 548 years ago. Sure, Klaus killed both of my parents, but my father is the reason Nadia and I were separated from the moment she was born. And he wasn't exactly a good father anyways, so I didn't really care that Klaus killed him. The only one I cared about was my mother. We were pretty close," she replied, telling him her story, figuring she could trust him.

"That's quite a life story. I'm sorry too, for what has happened to you," he sympathized with her. "You don't have to be sorry for me losing Snow, though. We had a full life together. Now though, it's time for me to move on in the next chapter of my own life," Charming replied to her.

"Yeah, well, as I've learned, experience gives you knowledge. It helps you when you need it the most," she told him.

A few weeks later, they finally found a bean to help her go home, but she didn't go alone. Because they'd fallen in love eventually, they went together, where she finally got her happiness that she'd been wanting for quite some time.
