Ch.1: Reunited

Ch.1: Reunited

A Chapter by Datherine100

It was a beautiful day, as a human and injured Kat lay on the forest floor. She'd tried finding something to help her injuries, but she hadn't gotten far into the woods. Now, everything was blurry. She was feeling quite weak, too. She knew it had to be from blood loss and some of her major injuries. Since she couldn't save herself, she hoped someone that cared would find and help her. She just survived and escaped Kai. She didn't want to die, yet again.

Damon had just died and ended up some place he didn't know. He just knew he was in some woods.

He began to walk through the woods, trying to figure out where he was, only to, after a while, smell some familiar scents. Human, fresh blood, and his ex. The former vampiress, Katherine. He thought he'd never see her again. After all, she'd died several years ago. It had been her own making, considering she'd tried to destroy Mystic Falls as a demon. However, he knew she wasn't a demon anymore, since he could hear a heartbeat with his super hearing. Since she wasn't a demon or vampire anymore, and since he remembered when she'd been just a human that couldn't survive on her own very well, he decided to help her. Besides, Katherine had died so long ago that he stopped hating her a long time ago.

When he found her, she was on her side, injured. If it weren't for just the wounds, he wouldn't have known where she'd come from. However, there was an arrow in her leg. Something he knew only Kai would do. He'd thought they'd been rid of him, but it seemed as though she'd ended up where he'd been. She had quite a few wounds, including a lower stomach wound, head wound with blood on either side of it, and what looked to him like an open leg artery.

He knelt at her side. The same side her back was facing.

"Katherine," he stated, before gently getting her on her back. He then gently pulled her into his arms. "Come on, kitty Kat." He pulled the arrow out of her leg, tossing it away. Then thought of what to do. He didn't want to watch her die, but he didn't think there were any nearby hospitals. He obviously didn't have much to save her with. He also didn't know if she could digest blood now.

After a few minutes, he decided to take a chance, hoping he could save her. She didn't have very long for him to try saving her without what he needed.

He bit his wrist, putting it to her lips, making his blood go down her throat.

"Stay with me. Come on, Katherine," he called, as he did so.

When she awoke, she was still in the woods, but not alone. It was almost dark too, and it seemed as though he'd healed her.

She slowly sat up, before grabbing a tree to help herself to her feet.

        "Damon?"

"You're welcome," he simply replied, before explaining, "I died and ended up here. Whatever this place is."

"It's called the Enchanted Forest," she informed him. "Before I heard about you opening up the tomb, I was in Storybrooke, Maine Regina created. I heard about this place from her and Rumplestiltskin. In here and Storybrooke, the fairytales we knew as children exist. Regina brought some selective people to Storybrooke to punish them. She mainly was vengeful against Snow White, though. She ruined Regina's life. The others were future collateral damage. Or leverage. However, depending on when we ended up here, their past selves could still be here. And Regina's past self? She was more evil than myself or Klaus. Rumple's past self is okay, though. He just needs something valuable in return if anyone needs his help," she explained to him. "Which is why, if we want out of here, we need someone that doesn't practice magic."

Most people would've thought this to be crazy, but not when he'd encountered mythical things before. He believed her, despite her past self having been good at lying to everyone.

"And who may this person be you're referring to?" he asked, in front of her now. He was ready to get out of here.

"Captain Hook. If we're lucky, he already has what's called a magic bean. If we've arrived at the right time, then all I need to do is offer him the chance to get his vengeance on Rumple. Rumple's past self...he both killed someone he loved and took his hand," she replied.

"What are we waiting for?" Damon replied, putting an arm around her to help her.

After a while, they found the part of the Enchanted Forest where some ships were docked at, as well as a tavern. Since she wasn't planning on staying long at all, she hadn't bothered to change clothes. Neither of them had.

They entered the tavern. Then she scanned the place for the person she was looking for. Then, seeing someone at a table, she approached, assuming who he was. He was the only one sitting alone, having a drink, after all. He was also the only person she saw that had one hook for a hand. And she didn't think there were others with one hand in this tavern. Despite what he was, as well as despite what she'd heard about him from both Rumple and Regina, she was quite confident. She was still Katherine, after all, and her looks hadn't changed all that much. She still had the ability, she felt, as she'd had as a vampire. As a vampire, nearly everyone she'd met had either been with or wanted to be with her. And from what she'd heard from Regina at least, he was similar to herself. The only difference is that her life had stopped her from being truly free for several centuries. Unlike Hook whom had gone on many adventures.

She gave a smile at the pirate, before telling him, "I need your help."

"I'm always willing to help a damsel in need, but that's going to cost you," he informed her.

"I know what you desire the most, and I can give that to you. If you help me leave this world, to another. Damon here, too."

"And what is it that I desire the most?" he inquired, since there were very few people that knew him inside and out.

"You want to skin yourself a crocodile," she replied. "The Dark One. Rumpelstiltskin. I know exactly where he is. You get us to the land, Storybrooke, and you can skin yourself said crocodile. Take your vengeance you've wanted for centuries."

"You had me at skinning myself a crocodile," he replied. "What do you need?"

"We need a magic bean. We can make a portal with it. Then you can steer your ship into the portal. It'll take us straight there," she replied.

"You're in luck. I have just one," he informed her. Because she seemed to know all about what he wanted, he trusted that they'd both get what they wanted. His vengeance and their way out. He then got up. "Come with me back to me ship."

They silently followed him to the Jolly Roger that he was the captain of, and they soon boarded it.

After about half an hour, they docked at the dock in Storybrooke. Damon and Kat exited first from the ship.

"Where do I find The Dark One?" Hook inquired of her, when he'd exited his ship.

"He has a shop. It's filled with things. You can't miss it if you know what you're looking for. If he's not there, there's a diner. It's similar to a pub or tavern from your world. It's called Granny's diner," she informed him. She wasn't going to hold his hand. This was his vengeance alone. Plus, she'd abandoned vengeance a long time ago on Klaus, so she had no need to be helping someone else with theirs.

She looked at her elder childe, once the pirate had gone.

"Since you seem to know this town so well, what now?" her elder childe inquired of her.

"Diner first. We could both use a drink. And I don't know about you, but I could use something to eat, too. And Granny makes a great cook," she replied, before beginning to head for the town.

Damon followed her, since she seemed to know this town inside and out. It seemed peaceful enough, though. Didn't seem too bad of a place. He assumed why she must've liked it so well when she'd been here for a short while as a vampire. Small, quiet, and in an area where nobody could find her. She'd explained this town pretty well to him on their way here.

About half an hour later, they walked in. Then she went up and sat on a bar stool, which Damon did as well.

        "You're back," Ruby greeted.

"You remember me," Kat commented. "Why don't you tell me what I've missed since I left town, eventually died, ended up in a land called a prison world, and then in your world and back here after Damon here saved my life."

"Well, the curse is broken. We all remember everything now. Our real lives and memories. Gold and Regina both have their magic back. He brought magic to the town," Ruby informed her, highlighting just the main things she thought she should know. "The good thing is I can control myself during wolfstime now. Charming helped me," Ruby added.

"I'm glad you've learned control," Kat commented. "Look, we're not planning on staying in the diner all day, so why don't you get us some Bourbon, and then something to eat for me. I'm not a vampire anymore, so I'm like some of you here."

        "Sure thing," Ruby replied.

"You didn't tell me there was a werewolf, too," Damon commented to his former sire.

"Well, I wasn't sure if these people had their memories and abilities back now. When Regina's spell was on them, Ruby didn't have any werewolf abilities. Regina gave them all fake memories. I guess when her spell broke, she must've gotten her abilities and memories all back. I'm assuming everyone else did, too. Most of these people are humans. Rumple used to be, but he's been immortal for centuries now. As far as I know, Regina's the only witch in this town," she explained to him.

Kat had just finished her food and was working on finishing the Bourbon, when she heard the familiar noise she'd come accustomed to, even after all of these years of not being in town.

"It's nice to see a friendly face," she then heard from her, when she sat by her. "Especially, after everything that's happened this year."

        Kat gave a smile.

"It's nice to see you too, Regina. I wasn't really planning on arriving back here, but considering the only way Damon and I would be leaving your world was to get a bean from a certain pirate, we had to. And to give you a heads up, he's here. I offered him a deal that he could get his vengeance if he helped us leave your world, and he obviously agreed," Kat informed her. "Now, unless you don't mind the two of us staying with you, we'll be elsewhere if you need anything. I'm not a vampire anymore, but I learned a long time ago I'm descended from Travelers. Gypsies that adapted to the times. I have magic if you need help in that department."

"Well, it's nice to have you back. And you know you're welcome to stay as long as you need to in town, but there's a curse on the town line. If you're planning on leaving town, you can't without losing your memories. You're both welcome. Just don't cause any trouble. I've got my own problems," Regina replied.

"Ruby filled me in on the highlights that I missed, but not everything," Kat informed her. "Don't worry. I remember the rules. And unlike some vampires, you don't need to worry about Damon," she then assured her.

After they'd finished their drinks and she'd been filled in on everything from Regina, and after it had come to everyone else finding out that she was back, and that Damon was in town with her, they left the diner. Kat wasn't planning on staying at the diner for long. She wasn't into socializing a lot unless she was friends with everyone, and unless it suited her. And she had plans to make an attempt to visit another friend of hers. Rumple. When she'd been in town last, her main friends had been Regina and Rumple.
