Sun Will Set, Sun Will Rise

Sun Will Set, Sun Will Rise

A Poem by Dave1102

The sun sets on another day
and I didn't accomplish a thing
I feel the usual disappointment
but I no longer feel the sting

Sometimes, as I lie alone
and the thoughts race in my head
I wonder when I wake tomorrow
if I'll bother to get out of bed

Living with the knowledge I'm not wanted
having been the black sheep throughout this life
though I try not to think much about it
the reality still cuts like a knife

Spent so much of my time in speculation
about why I was born to lose
how so many take their good life for granted
when I never had the opportunity to choose

The sun will rise on a brand new day
though for me, it will be the same
I'll continue to find myself yearning
for a life that never came

This is an actual representation of how some of us feel about our lives. Sometimes I wonder exactly what are we searching for. The past doesn't matter, the future is uncertain and the present we have to ourselves, remains the same. Beautifully written poem!

Fascinating, absolutely fascinating. Everyone has their medium for opening up, and I find poetry to be the best means of doing so. I like what you did here and your end stanza was beautiful.
