Footprints In The SandA Poem by David O Whalen (O Haolin in Celtic)Traces...We all leave traces
Dotted lines of footprints Across The shell strewn strand Fleeting proof and not so subtle hints of passages of child and man Tell-trail trace of Human presence Impressed deep into the sand Doomed to be no more than flimsy evidence Soon erased by Neptune’s hand While not far away there also lay More substantial prints of child and man embossed in bed of ancient clay Unfazed by Nature’s hand Dotted lines of footprints One fleeting...One made to last So different and yet so similar since They’ve both become the past They both could be reminders To Us of the Fleeting nature of time And that we might be better minders ...Of the prints we leave behind... © 2017 David O Whalen (O Haolin in Celtic)Author's Note
