Love & the GoatA Story by DayranTales of Gender Relations : VThe expression, ' you brought out the goat in me, ' is used in specific circumstances when the individual experiences real fear. The source of the fear is a curious import we may not yet understand but what we ascribe to the experience is the fear for the loss of love. This sometimes explains the insidious attachment to love. I suppose it might be true to say that we cultivated love .... that we are its inspiration .... that, sometimes persuades us of someone worthy of love. We thereafter offer ourselves as the candidate for such a deserving and why not, did we not sculpt its sinews and hushed reverence? What more does it asks? Does it seek a new initiative from us? A willing, a volition .... with a heart to give? The images of the sacred heart of the Christ shines down to us from the walls .... are we saying we are not yet so capable of such a feat? Where love seeks to give off itself, we have to ask ourselves ..... have we been giving or receiving up till now .... a loaded inquiry into the nature of reality .... something that we often avoid because perhaps we are in doubt. But would we like to find out? Maybe that would make the expression of the goat clearer. The question of our self worth as to love intimidates us and makes us fear for life and property. It would make a goat run .... © 2012 Dayran |
