A mother and child sometimes make for a divine inspiration on each other. Such divinity does come to be represented in the institutions of faith, but sometimes it only picks on the worst of times. Perhaps we ought to take a look at it again.

Mother is a traveller. As far as I could tell, my mother would travel all over the world, without leaving the kitchen. And she'll follow my father on a comment that was fairly representative of the situation. How? She has the quality of the Magamayi. It's a term in Tamil that refers to the Magi, an ancient representation of faith, sometimes magical sometimes charisma.

And she was very charismatic. I had assumed one time that she was simply my mother and I'm entitled to liberties. She picked up a cane and chased me down the village road in full view of everyone cheering her on. And she came pretty close too.

I reflect on this today as I think of the illustrious ladies of the world. There's the sainted Mary, Mariamman of the Indian family, Ameraterasu of the monks, Ishtar of the ancients and above them all is the continously joyous and ecstatic Ayi Magamayi. The word Ayi in Tamil, refers to becoming.

You would expect that such a family must come to be headed by a father who is somewhat trained in the arts. And it is. There's the Magi, Merlin, the Jinn, the kindly fisherman and the Manthirakara. They make for quite a bunch, but its not for the weak of heart and mind.

They are the wheel of the world. I think we are going to see more of them today. They represent the aspect of the bigger mind that we left behind in favor of the expedient. It would appear today, that size does matter.
