A Driving LicenceA Story by DayranTales of the Chariot Driver : I
Every life is guided by a lead that emerges from our impulses and brings us to where we want to go. The human body bears close resemblance to a vehicle, like a chariot, as we journey our way from life to life until we find its just fulfillment. As the seasons change we realize that the driver has transformed into someone else. This brings changes to the man who comes closer to intimating the nature of his being.
In referring to the body as a chariot we are introducing a new perception to our understanding. The strict reference has always been to call it the physical human body as if we are the blood, bones and sinews of its muscle. But in the impulses of the life forces we find that we may well be more but for the strict imperative of the norm, we create a willed enforcement of the physical.
In a broader view of the human body we observe close to thirty separate impulses that makes contact with our intelligence and brings our experiences forward with the consensual approval of the rest. The Assyrians were the first to record and document these impulses. Today, in a mix of religious studies and science we are happy to consent to the possibility of such a phenomenon.
It is the catalyst that divides the genders, the races of man and raises the seed of man from that of a child to that of a human. It formed the earth and brought to it an atmosphere. From there it cultivated in itself the trees and animals. And it does it all with the casual attention of fungi on leftover food that has brought about worms.
We marvel at the miracle of life and at the same time we experience the weight of its burdens on our shoulders, often not realizing that in the experience of our total being, we are in collusion with the forces that create a lead for such experiences. Sometimes the chariot may pause but then we find that the reins have been handed into our hands.
