Geomancy … Know Your World

The dictionary defines geomancy as a method of divination that is based on points taken from the regions of the world and to ascertain their relation to each other. It adds the suggestion that such points may be selected at random. This definition may be taken from the insights of man's past experiences.

The word ' geo ' obviously refers to the world and the word ' man ' refers to the human experience. Put together it would mean a study of man's experience of the world. However it differs from the word ' clairvoyance ' to the extent that ' geomancy ' may refer to the physical experience of the world, while clairvoyance may refer to the engagement of the mind of man in understanding himself.

On the basis of such a view, it would appear that geomancy is an art that is based on the passion mind (H8d) … and is expected to engage the qualities of the 2^nd and 3^rd cakra in its divination. In addition it may be observed that as a world experience it engages the qualities of the passion mind in combination with the 1^st and 9^th cakra that represent the divine forces of creation.

It is significant in the study of geomancy that it be undertaken by someone who is in love or they are in a stable male/female relationship that is joyful of the experience of life. In relying on love as its primary instrument it diminishes the willfulness of the passion mind and brings the natural light of the mind in curiosity about itself and its future.

In doing so it activates the divine forces at the beginning of time to engage in the inquiry and brings to the clairvoyant an optimistic representation of the purpose of life in an overview of the world's experience. The technique is a substitute for the crystal ball … and is engaged in relation to young people, not exceeding 32 years of age, whose motivation and active playful natures are still strong.

It refers to understanding the play of life and is provided as a guide to those who may view it positively as an engagement in their own lives for the experience of self understanding. Accordingly, the clairvoyant engages a technique that is just as playful. Holding a collection of 10 pebbles or seashells in the fist, she tosses it on the table and studies the formation pattern. In reference to a standard pattern, the pebbles or shells are read with an eye as to the deviation from the standard.

The standard pattern relies on the balance of a healthy mind in a healthy body and expouses the importance of the great average. It points to the need to restore the balance of our lives. An individual may also use the technique to assess and understand his relation to the world … where the world is viewed as the feminine principle.

The technique is best engaged in by women and by that would represent a high accuracy in its reading. It is representative of the will of the world and the role of women in the random and easy-going life of acceptance and forgiveness. Its also a great tool for learning the arts.
