Learn How To See

In the final act of the legend of King Arthur, father and son come face to face in an encounter that was bound to devastate both of them … the father loses his passion for life … and the son loses his guide for a logical and sensible nature. Yet the two of them can't seem to stop the irresistible urge to crash into each other. In inquiring into it, we realize that it takes place at a deeply personal level and exercises a powerful influence on our actions.

As a young man growing up, we encounter the will of the mother, who paints a pretty picture of everything that we encounter and presents it in a socially entertaining way. Beyond this point is the cold hard experience of reality, often portrayed as a chaos of gigantic proportions about the world and the universe. The young man who finds his mother's Tinkerbell assurances to be false will break the will of the mother … and thereafter enters the awesome world of the father.

In the story of King Arthur the son comes to meet the father in the mind of the Sage/Bard and is forced thereafter to start all over to build his own life, standing on his own feet. Such a son is the father of man and from generation to generation that follows, a father protects the son from having to engage the chaotic mind of creation and encourages an attitude of being dutiful in order to avoid the abyss of death and resurrection.

Hence in the culture of social upbringing, we deliver to the young a version of life that appeals to his logical mind and encourages him to make of it an acceptable norm and to match it with his own volition. In addition we bring to that young man a semblance of our knowledge of these matters as if to say its founded on a real life's experience and is representative of the lives of all men … that its an average … and may be relied upon as a guide in life.

The life of Charles Bukowski ( 1920-1994) is such a life that represents the social standard in these times. There are those who pursue the life of the man and see it in all its drunken splendor of grit and fighting fervor and then they are those who may have caught the movie version. I reviewed the man's life and came up with my own version of his life's experiences. It represents different phases in the life of an individual who was born just before the depression era in the US. This is listed below:

The Bull at the Gate

Snake on the Vine

Shaking Tree

Burning Tower

Death Star

Girl on the Pole

Porcelain Garland

Married with Husband

The Barking Bard

Safe and Secure

As a young man takes to this suggestion he is coming to apply his clairvoyant nature in a study of social norms and the representative heroism of life's challenges in these times. We all do this and it doesn't take a great deal to review that in our own lives and find that its so. What remains for us to do is to bring a greater study to the phenomenon of the Sage in our lives to help us to reconnect with our own youthful visions.

In coming into contact with our clairvoyant natures we also understand how we helped it grow with the contact we made with the physical nature of our lives. It is the start to the discovery of the clairvoyant in us.
