The New Dream

Current research into dreams and its influence on the mindset of individuals depicts a new understanding of clairvoyance in society. Researchers(1) report that movie goers in these times want something more than a ' shoot-them-up,' … they want to see their heroes involved in meta-physical peril. It explains the phenomenal success of the recent movie ' Inception.'

In connection with this … research(2) has centered around the premise of identifying the many parts of a dream and to identify the role of the self in cultivating a guide and leadership to the different parts … so as to avoid conflicts and create a stable experience in dreams. The study does not provide a standard manual on how to manage the dissenting parts but leaves it to the individual to create his own view and responses.

In another area … research(3) found that post traumatic stress is a factor in the way an individual manages his dreams and may sometimes lead to unethical manipulation of the dreams as to create false hopes and expectations. This may lead to problems later that needs to be managed by a process of restoring the integrity of the individual and to create new ways to manage founded on sound facts and an understanding of reality.

The ways in which we manage our dreams are many. Freud found that we postpone certain impulses that cannot be satisfied in the conditions existing in the life of the individual. Such impulses are thereafter guided into a dreaming of a future time when they may find their achievement and satisfaction.

In putting together these issues we get a picture of the life of a young man today who comes under considerable influence from family and society that influences the development of his mindset. If the young man's father had passed on or left the family … he may be at a loss for the experience of the ' self ' to guide him in the cultivation of his perceptions. Accordingly he may substitute a hero ideal who thereafter creates a guide on his dream management.

As he grows up he is stimulated by the influence of the hero in his actions and may in a positive setting lead him on high to take a position of responsibility with regards to society … and live out his dream. But if he fails to make that achievement … he may be forced to cover his shortcoming … by subtly manipulating the dream image of the hero … and manage it another way. However in an adult position he starts to face up to situations squarely and may be forced to take the bull by the horns in the way he manages his dreams thereafter.

Here's where the adult experience comes to engage other members of the society to present and review individual perceptions in an environment that is representative of the world's experience. It introduces an element of reality to the way we are managing our dreams and guiding them in new directions. It is the final achievement of a life that has been searching for meaning and purpose. He seeks to be a part of the world dream and in the process … understand his own.
