Mysterious Lights

In the Arabian desert night … a person around the campfire … amidst the sparse vegetation … is treated to a bright canopy of stars from above. It creates a tremendous impact. What a change it must feel from the day of human encounters … to turn to the stars … and feel the intimation of their presence in the passions of the man. Its the stuff of poets and bards … and right there … to play a lute in the appeals of poignancy … makes for a virtual conversation with the heavens.

In a man … given to ponder … the light of his conscious … lights a trail … like the river Eridanus … that descends from the heavens … to terra firma … here on earth. The early Indics called it … Ganga … from which they named the river … the Ganges … that flows from the Himalayas … down to the Indian ocean. To this day … they continue to bathe in its waters … as a ritual for the cleansing of the soul … and the attainment of moksha … or release from attachments.

There's no doubt that we see with our eyes … and create relations to the physical nature of our environment. But along with our sights … from the light of the sun … we appear to rely on another light … that of the stars … that guides our dreams … and makes contact with the subtle passions … to intimate to our minds … the possibilities of our lives … that transcends … the physical natures … in our condition as man. We often wonder about that … and devise new ways to communicate that to our understanding.

They form a relation with each other … drawn from the natural orientation of trees … birds … fish … animals … earth …. sky and the rest. And it does that over countless lives … in a timeline of the homo sapiens … that's reported to go back 3.5 mil years. In the man … these cultivated the mind and passion … and continued their partnership that was begun by the hand of creation. And today … man rises to view these in his experiences … and attempts to put it into words that he would understand. No doubt we continue to work to understand … the nature of the relations.

We share these roles sometimes … with the family … spouses … children … and friends … and rely on a specialization that each brings to the experience … enabling the individual to view a sense of his whole nature. We create an acceptance of these specialized roles easily … almost naively … without question. And often through the march of time … we find ourselves … sieving through these relations … and the review of the many schemes … that helps us manage.

Our activities in life … play a big role in accentuating these experiences … and bringing them into an experience of trends … fashion … lifestyles … and attitudes … which in turn evolves into an expression of what we are … in stories … poems … songs … and the many dramas and plays that helps us capture a part of each experience … as form of impression on us. Of these … our sexual relations and the food that we consume … comprise a major aspect of our experiences … and forms an enduring impact on the quality of our mind and passion.

Today … from the experiences of the different groups … or varna … of the world … we encounter many perceptions of our experiences … as one earth. It suggest a relationship we are yet to understand in an overt manner … but we are accustomed to engaging everyone … with a civility … and social nature … that has been developed by our common experiences … as man. That is certainly something … that we apply ourselves to … as school and academia … to prepare ourselves for eventual understanding.

In a lifetime … we come to see that our intimations from the passions … are the stuff of suggestions … but in themselves … do not create ready guides … as to what we ought to do … in each circumstance. They rely on our own physical senses … to add to these intimations … about the suitability of our actions … and speech … at any one time. We have certainly learnt to do it much better than before … and today … our self awareness forms a major part of our daily pre-occupations.

In engaging it … it makes the subtle suggestion … that the passion and the mind … were at one before … in the appeal of a paradise … that lies as a foundation … in our self identity. That raises the notion … that the subtle passions of the stars identified with the mind of the sun … to suggest a common purpose and aim … like the life of Kings. But in being different in quality … it produced a separation … that took place … as if without reason. We went our different ways … but didn't know why. We see that today … in our relations … and substitute for the gap with grace … the comic … the repentant … and the practical dude.

In removing our substitutes and disguises we encounter the bizarre nature of the contortion … and today we meet that monstrous suggestion … for the first time. Without a plain reason to account for the difference … we each assumed on either side of the fence … that we were right … and the other wrong. Convenient? … yes … a self gratification? … obviously! In viewing the monster … children laugh … and grown-ups quickly move to change the subject … or simply escape into dreams. Someday we hope to do the right thing … and in such a hope … we greet the coming age of man.
