The Key to Ayusha

The Key to Ayusha

A Covenant

"

Its the social contract. Its what the Bible refers to as the ' Ark of the Covenant.' Its referred to commonly as ' the handshake ' … ' a gentleman's agreement ' … ' the chutzpah ' … or simply as the commitment we bring to an engagement. Its that which bonds humanity … in the tasks that we share and comes to define the great wheel of life. The theme contains many variations.

The term Ayusha … is an acronym … drawn from the words … ' Aye ' … ' Union ' … and ' Share ' … and is indicative of the acceptance we create for our common existence. Besides the Bible … our bards have brought to us … some special selections of the concept. The most current is the book by Ken Follett … ' The Key to Rebecca ' ( 1980 ) … that is a thriller to break the Nazi code … based on the book of the same name.

An older version refers to … Ayothya … that is depicted as the home of Rama the King … in the celebrated Ramayana. In this version … the key to the contract … is the personality of Rama … that stays true to his word. Other versions include the story Ariyamala* … or the plays of Shakespeare. As a contract … our bond with each other is displayed … as our key to survival.

This brings us to the fundamentals of the relation … that forms the basis of the bond. And it comprises concepts of the individual relation to the world … friends … business relations … international agreements … husbands and wives in the home … and any other aspect of the activities that we enter into with faith … the word of someone … or our knowledge. And its not unknown to have changed over the years … in line with our growing awareness of its criteria.

Where we find in our arrangements … that we have been misunderstood … misinterpreted … charged with cheating … fraud … or shenaganism … its often illustrative of a breakdown in that trust that forms the basis of the arrangement. And this may occur for many reasons … the chief one being … the complexity of issues … that involves itself in our affairs … and causes us to miss the details.

Its also referred to as the ' straight and narrow ' … ' textbook ' … in the way we bring ourselves to describe its manner of decorum. Such a decorum serves as guide to our affairs and we bring a volition to understand its purpose and wisdom … and to learn of what that means to us … as the experience of humanity. In that way … a practice … once set … is carried forward from generation to generation … until that time for the renewal of its vows.

As an instrument of the collective will … it displays an incredible subscription to the principles of equity … and justice in all affairs. And quite often we find incredible social pressures … from public opinion … in the way we are guided into following its tenets … even at great inconvenience to our person. In such situations … we find that the collective will of the community … has taken over our own … for the preservation of equity in our relations.

In the situations when the world will takes over both sides to an arrangement … its fascinating to think … that such persons are no longer engaging their wills in the process … but like puppets are brought … into an engagement with each other … based simply on the force of the momentum. In some situations … it leads to wars … but we also consider the possibility … that such collective wills … can influence a peaceful resolution.

The Key to Ayusha … therefore … relies on a continuous awareness … and an attitude that is steadfast … to the principles of the union. Without being fixated … on the founding of such principles … its important that … man demonstrates an ability to improvise … and adapt to the changes … brought by our advancements. The spontaneity … to changes … and the ability to think on our feet … becomes the shape and handling of such a key.

In our growing experience … in these times … we have been provided the opportunity … to view different aspects … of such arrangements that we make … and to understand that better. It brings to our growing familiarity of the issues … and it does that with a gesture … resembling understanding of the human condition … its bias … and its love of physical activity.

In all our trials … it allows us the opportunity to explain our actions … our awareness of our bias … our actions to review it … refine … and the resistances encountered. And its here that we come to that incredulous word in the English language … we call … ' excuses.' Both a last resort … and a first aid … in many situations … it serves as our call for mercy … when all else has failed. But we notice that … even when we continue to beat up on ourselves … the collective will sometimes steps in to stay our hand.

In a final view of the contract … we notice the way we report on the events of our lives … both professionally and colloquially … as being significant … in the conveyance … of meaning and purpose … of our community life. The public media takes on this huge responsibility … and brings to us at home … a perception of the world's society … and its derived sensations … of what's norm … and of value. And the call for greater equity and balance … in such reports … grows daily.
