A Rhetorical ViewA Poem by Dayran
A man who perceives himself self sufficient,
Has a very large fortress with high walled gates.
He has to realize from the experience, something,
Is he keeping things out or helping to keep it in?
Is he in or out? How does he come to love the woman?
In the way that she relates to such a contraption,
And responds to it, however she does, and in that way.
Not something a son understands, but to capitulate,
Make notes and observe the phenomenology quietly,
She's an internal aggravation combined with strength,
It produces an inquiring mind with a volitional response.
In it she perceives the family of the world, inhouse,
The way that father becomes the young boy, in joy,
Mother the older in expectation, then father as mother
In the joy of expectation. Mother, the expectation of joy.
Which the world constructs for them as giving and receiving.
Where the son rises to say he doesn't understand,
Father simply points him at what he does normally,
What do you think it is? The father asks patiently.
I just have to be myself and hope everything turns out.
That's it, the father replies. Now that wasn't too hard.
