The Lonely Night

A love poem.

You pierced the inky darkness

swept away the black velvet curtain

lifted the smothering weight

of the lonely night.

Your sweet smile ignited a spark

your laughter encouraged the flame

feeling your silken caress sent it blazing

dispelling the lonely night.
