Willow Tree

Willow Tree

A Poem by Debra Stevens Edwards (debby)

Beneath the willow tree
Imagination is set free.

Wander here and there
Travel out to everywhere.

Skip and play along the rocks
bouncing along with curly locks

I twist and turn and dizzily fall
And gasp at the beauty of it all

My imagination is like that of a small child
playful sometimes or outrageous and wild

That's just me a walking contradiction
Won't be held back cause of convention

I love the individuality expressed in this piece, Debby. I have always LOVED Willow trees. There's something so serene about them. I picture the old tire swing and swinging so carefreely under it. A lovely write...

Hugs, me

Debby, this is great... I love it! I love willow trees... especially the weeping willow. I believe Hans Christian Anderson wrote a story about a willow tree... I have it somewhere... will look it up and let you know if I find it.
