At Peace

looking at the view from my patio

At Peace

Blue sky, blue water, lapping the tattered shore...
It still brings serenity the way it did before...

I can feel at peace here with no demands on me...
I yearn to drift upon the clouds and let them set me free...

Here I can always be just who I know I am...
No one putting pressure on me or making life a scam...

No one to hold on to so I’m at peace with letting go...
I don’t mean to hurt anyone it’s just something that I know....

 

Until that day is upon me my time at an end...

I will walk through life with Jesus my savior and my friend.

how i long for this kind of peace... i have found peace in certain things... even in Him, but, i was never so sure about His words!
though i envy you for what you have.... and i wish i could have it back!

Enjoyed the rhyming couplet form and the sense of acceptance.
Poetry is perhaps the best form of self expression with the added advantage that sharing with other people may just spark off in them a sense of serene acceptance of whatthey can't alter
