Wishes and Dreams

Life built on wishes and dreams
Hopes and prayers optimistic things
Such as wedding gowns engagement rings
All different sorts of wedding extremes

You say I’m crazy and wasting my time
However, you have not walked a mile in my shoes
You cannot hear my music I do not move to blues
Mine is classical symmetry meter and rhyme

I move to the beat of a different drum
I will not ask you to keep step with me
You move to your own beat, as it should be
Let me be happy beat and maybe a strum

I am happy can you leave it at that
Do you think I will force my life styles on you?
It is not my style though you do not have a clue
So let me say good day as I tip my hat.

This is really good. I love the last stanza. It shows that people don't need to try and make their lifestyles acceptable to others. Very good!

Building a life on wishes and dreams huh..Some of us learned at an early age not to wish for much as it was never going to be there..facing reality can be a tough thing to face..Your poem sort of says this to me..nice write,,God bless..Valentine
