Mental IllnessA Poem by DecentlyOkayWriterDisorders that affect your mood, thinking and behavior.
A constant struggle, day by day
A war within, that won't go away An invisible weight, upon the mind Leaving one feeling lost and confined Anxiety, depression, bipolar too Many faces, this illness can ensue They don't discriminate, they don't care They can strike anyone, anywhere It's not a weakness, it's not a choice It's a battle, that one must face For too long, it's been in the wrong light But it's time to break the lies It's not just sadness, it's not just fear It's a constant battle, that's always near It can take over, and steal your light Leaving you in a never-ending fight Seeking help, is not a sign of defeat It's a brave step, to admit your seat In this battle, against your own mind But with support, you will surely find That you are strong, you are brave And together, we can break the cave Of too much fear and shame We're not for hiding, not to blame Just because we need help for the pain to go away Now's the time, now is just We're alive, ready to strive and that's enough. © 2024 DecentlyOkayWriterAuthor's Note
