Everybody Freeze

Everybody Freeze

A Poem by DecentlyOkayWriter
"

Three.. two.. one.. stop. Please?

"
The world stops. Just for a moment. Because, for some reason, someone wants- no- needs the world to stop. You don't have this luxury. No one does, to be fair.
-A Book I Can't Remember the Title Of

The fact that everyone can just keep going isn't fair
When I'm rocked to the core, because this pair-
is done for, doomed.
That pair, regretfully being me and you.
To be fair, it's my fault. I was too prepared.
For this magical pair to take the world and reign
Maybe for this pair to eventually become three
I should have known, too many things screamed
"Hey, this is a red flag! Look at me!"
Instead I gleefully spray painted all the warnings green
A kitten really couldn't have been more naive
All this nonsense about friendship is really nothing great
You feed someone your secrets and wait for them to break
Let them tease you because you thought-
No, you knew
It was going to be okay
I would blame gravity, because I fell so hard-
But deep down, I know I'm to blame for the scars
Still, I'll beg for mercy, and pray that the gods will heed
The only thing I need right now is for everyone to freeze.

Please?
