life is what happens to you
when you make other plans
life only happens
when you give up on living
but the world has you live anyways
when it keeps you pinned in place
until you see every star
and shake every hand
until you don't want to go.
when you first kiss your third lover
only when you whisper your first real thought
is when you live
but, they say death
is when you realize you're living.
