Jezebel in Jericho

Jezebel in Jericho

A Poem by Deena Miller

I bleed from a wound that shows no hole
Nor leaves a nasty scar
The pain I feel,
The damage you dealt
Leaves the biggest wound by far

How can I say I trust you
When you stab me at every turn?
Me leave my life in your hands?
I’d sooner let it burn

Oh trust in me you say
You Jezebel of deceit.
I let you in, you smile with concern
As i lay besmirched at your feet.

Did you giggle while I was deep in despair,
Did you laugh while I was in mortal pain?
“Oh silly girl, you haven’t a single clue!”
If I could take it all back again!
