Only a Dirge Will Do

Only a Dirge Will Do

A Poem by Desert Knave
"

Sonnet

"
Though I know it might be wrong
I'm decomposing a song
Awash in the key of you
That's quite hideous and blue
Written in a morbid hue
Not meant to be sung by two ...
And only a dirge will do

While the feeling is still strong
I'm decomposing a song
That's a dead-hearted as you
And one-hundred-percent true
With a mood wounded and blue
From all that you put me through ...
And only a dirge will do

I love it. Nicely written and expressive of one or more experiences people my age have in their past. I’m going to save it in my library.
