I Asked the Stars (To Keep You Alright)

I Asked the Stars (To Keep You Alright)

A Poem by Desert Knave
"

a sonnet

"
        (I)
I looked up at
The sky tonight
Checked out the moon's
Wee slice of light
And asked the stars
To keep you alright
With all their might
       (II)
I looked up
At the sky tonight
Imagined your face
Bathed in star-light
And I made a wish
For one more night
Just holding you tight

One more night, how romantic is this sonnet of loss. Lovely imagery Jim, your words have such beauty and infuse love. So very nicely penned.

Thank you so much. Love poems is where I started in poetry and I like to revisit on occasion. ~Jim
