Because That's How I Fall

Because That's How I Fall

A Poem by Desert Knave
"

~ a sonnet that's no apology at all ~

"
I worked so hard
And I worked so long
On that apology
That I knew quite well
You were owed by me

I thought I'd do it
After I had healed
But here's the deal
I haven't healed at all
Because that's how I fall

No need for sympathy
You don't owe that to me

No, you don't owe me at all...
For at least I got to fall

Desert Knave
This came to me while "Friday I'm In Love" was playing ... not sure why.

Wow, this is really moving. It feels so raw and real, like you're opening up your heart without holding back. I love how the lines flow naturally, and that ending" at least I got to fall" hits hard in such a quiet, powerful way. You did an amazing job putting your feelings into words. Feels like you poured your heart and sould into it while writing without thinking too much... sometimes words just form in the head for no specific reson and that's perfectly fine..
