I No Longer Walk Down Your Street
A Poem by Desert Knave
- So as not to get beat -
I no longerWalk down your street As I'm afraid of Some folks I might meet As their forgiveness Is not a done feat No, I no longer Walk down your street As I'm afraid I'll get my a*s beat And beat tout suite

So many questions raised by this interesting write. Forgiveness for what. And why would it not be granted...how great the transgression.
Or, is it a metaphorical street?
One that is just between speaker and subject...and getting beaten metaphorically, figuratively rather than literally.
This is the kind of poem I really love. It allows me to go so many places all at once.
