As Long As You Feed the Till

As Long As You Feed the Till

A Poem by Desert Knave
"

a sonnet to paying the bill

"
Though most of your stories
Are other people's lies
I don't mind that at all
If you're someone who buys

I'll laugh at your dumb jokes
Like they're funny as hell
As long as you're buying
That's all perfectly swell

So fill up that jukebox
With what songs that you will
And I'll dance for as long
As you're paying the bill ...
I'll even feed your ego
As long as you feed the till
