With a Wink and a Grin

With a Wink and a Grin

A Poem by Desert Knave
"

a sonnet on sin

"
Before that first night
It was never a sin
It wasn't one until
You invited it in
With a wink and a grin

Though sometimes the lines
Might be very thin
It's within intentions
That things turn into sins

But, don't you worry
About just what you've been
Because that old Devil
Will still invite you in
With a wink and a grin

I really like your poem, but it got me wondering, what in your mind is sin? I know the poem is just for fun, but I got to thinking that there are very, very few acts I would call sin, nor do I believe in Satan. I do believe absolutely in a Creator, God, Allah, the consciousness of all universes. I feel like I opened an 80 year old book of poems, and there this was.

Having so much trouble with the WC site lately. This one made me think. Who let what in? What is sin anyway other than something the world uses to stop people from having fun? Well written sonnet, Jim. I never mastered the art. Lydi**
