No Mush Coming Through

No Mush Coming Through

A Poem by Desert Knave
"

a poem about writing

"
I've been meaning to write
Something mushy for you
Full of flowery prose
And a "my love" or two
With a kiss of sibilance
And a dash of ado
But each time that I try
Nothing mushy comes through ...
What's a poet to do ?

A poet is not to write those flowery prose, but instead write something with clever rhyme and rhythm that highlights the sweet struggle of expressing love without falling into clichés, like you've done here.

Thank you very much ! ~Jim
Semi-sweet words for a sweetheart? I like that “kiss of sibilance.”
