A Blend of Leather and Lace

A Blend of Leather and Lace

A Poem by Desert Knave
"

a poem inspired by a song title ("Leather and Lace")

"
What I needed was a place
Where I could be nothing more
Than just another face
With really cheap drinks
And a bit of elbow space
What I really needed
Was that one kind of place
Where there is no need for
Any kind of social grace
And the dress code is always
A blend of leather and lace

I really like how you distilled the spirit of Leather and Lace into something raw and human..seeking a place to just be. The simplicity of the scene and the rhythm of your lines carry a quiet honesty that feels both nostalgic and free. Nicely done, Jim.

Yeah….I would definitely hang out there and maybe even we could find Stevie Nicks on the juke box.
