I Hate That (Only U Make Loving Fun)

I Hate That (Only U Make Loving Fun)

A Poem by Desert Knave
"

a poem inspired by a song title ("You Make Loving Fun")

"
I hate that you're
Still the only one
Who lived to make
The loving fun
Because I know well
When all's said and done
You'll always remain
My Moon and my Sun
But I will never
Ever be your One
And in the end
That's not all that fun

There’s such aching honesty in your words. I love how the poem captures the push and pull of longing..the joy someone brings, paired with the quiet sorrow of knowing you can never fully belong to them. The rhythm and repetition make the emotion linger, bittersweet and vivid, like love glimpsed through a fragile lens.

Your poem may be fictional, inspired by the song, but you elicited a lot of real memories for me. I knew that woman, loved that woman, lost that woman. She broke my heart, absolutely shattered it.

Thank you. Some of this one is also biographical, I just didn't have better words than theirs. ~Jim
Hi Desert,

I am in home build over desert, its pretty comples, and for few, happiest song, it makes sad for few. I feel love should be fun, and i know fun makes you smile, if love is there there is pain too, but you explicitly said you are my lovve and fun too.

Thank you for sharing beautiful poem, i see here writer is an engineer going to run the oil business and i wish you good luck with every cell of my heart.
