A nicely penned piece of Zen-like wisdom. I very recently heard a Sufi discourse describing how we are not our thoughts and emotions, and that a beginning step on that Path is to try to step back and as our True Self try to be an observer, not a participant in that activity of the mind. Your two lines strongly reminded me of that.
