Evelyn's Valentine

Evelyn's Valentine

A Poem by Desert Knave
"

a sonnet for Valentine's Day past

"
Evelyn's valentine
Was unlike all the rest
All the others were fine
But hers was the best

Firstly, her valentine
Was handed straight to me
Not passed down the line
Handed personally

Second, her valentine
Contained a little note
"Jimmy, will you be mine ?"
Was what Evelyn wrote

Evelyn's valentine
Had to be a sign

I enjoyed your sonnet. I’ve always hated Valentines Day.

Thanks. I always found Valentine's Day worked well for a guy who loved writing poetry. ~Jim
