Will You, Oh Will You, Dear ?

Will You, Oh Will You, Dear ?

A Poem by Desert Knave
"

an attempt at an old-school overblown Valentine's Day poem

"
Would roses of yellow
Hand-picked by this fellow
Do for you, my dear ?

Would a few of my rhymes
Read to you a few times
Make my devotion clear ?

Would a romantic bite
Enjoyed by candlelight
Help show you I'm sincere ?

Darling, will you be mine ?
Will you be my Valentine ?
Will you, oh will you, dear ?

May be overblown, but it shows a good mastery of rhyme. Take it from an old rhymer.

Thanks. Yeah, one of the things I love with rhyme is the exaggerative and overblown uses of it. ~Jim.. read more
Spot on! A lovely little rhyme of love that brought a smile to my face.

Thank you, kind Sir ! ~Jim
Old-school heart on the table, no irony to hide behind.
Sometimes devotion hits hardest when it just asks, plain and brave.
