Nothing Ever Evens the Score

Nothing Ever Evens the Score

A Poem by Desert Knave
"

a poem about cheeks long-turned

"
For the longest time
A part of me wanted
To even the score
Perhaps go so far
That I'd hurt you more
But not even once
Did I walk through that door
Because nothing ever
Truly evens the score
As somebody always
Gets hurt a lot more
When love becomes war

A super poem flowing , rhyming swell on how love turns to war. Thumbs up!
Plz also read and comment my newest poem too

This one lands like a fist held back—tension and restraint right up to the last line.
I love how the truth in it bites: love and war aren’t opposites here, they’re the same cruel teacher, and you’re wise enough to walk away.

Thank you. Yes, this was a lesson learned long after youth. ~Jim
