Imprinted CurseA Poem by Mika
People pass right through me,
a repeating cycle of pain and loneliness. I can no longer feel the warmth of the sun or the rain when it falls against my skin. I became a ghost to the world because of you. Every time I ran to your aid, you fed on my kindness, drained every ounce of love I had. When you open your eyes, what do you see? Each time you face me, does your heart ache in agony? All these years I wasted on you" I could’ve kept moving forward, could’ve grown, could’ve healed, but my pride wouldn’t let me let you go. All the love and care I gave you, you treated as disposable. Every time I reached out my hand, you grabbed on and never let go. But when I needed you" you turned your back on me. You watched me drown in pain and loneliness, spiraling out of control. Tell me" did my suffering amuse you? When you open your eyes, what do you see? Each time you face me, does your heart ache in agony? All those years I gave to you" time I’ll never get back" because my pride wouldn’t let me walk away. I imprinted you with a curse of memory. Every time you close your eyes, you’ll see me" not to haunt you, but to remind you. When you fall, you’ll remember who stood above the wreckage you left behind. I hope you recognize the taste of what you gave so freely. I hope one day you understand what you’ve done. Open your eyes. Face your reality. Maybe my pride kept me too long" but here I stand, dignity intact. You left a bitter taste behind, but now I know better. Nothing you do will ever pull me back into your trap. People still pass through me, but I am no longer empty. I was a ghost because of you" but I survived you. When you open your eyes, what do you see? I see someone who finally walked away. I’m letting you go. I’m letting you go. I let you go. © 2026 Mika |
