Walking the Lane of Memories

Walking the Lane of Memories

A Poem by Mika
"

This is about an ex of mine who he was my first love. It was a long distance relationship but a mutual interest. One day everything went radio silent. No closure. I had to think of it as the end.

"
Walking down the lane of memories
Wondering how you’ve been
Remembering what we went through
Leaves a deep aching question
With no answers left to find

I remember your name
But I don’t recall your face
In a state of sorrow
My mind left to wonder why

I’m left in a state of delirium
I try to find you
Not knowing why
My heart aches for you tonight
The memories and dreams we left behind
Haunting me tonight

Guided by the moonlight
I call out your name
Frantically waiting
To hear your voice again

The more I try to let you go
Your memory keeps hanging on

I remember your name
But I don’t recall your face
In a state of sorrow
My mind left to wonder why

I’m left in a state of delirium
I try to find you
Not knowing why

I’m still remembering the dreams we had
But I have to leave you behind
Despite my heart wanting you close
I know I need to let you go

You branded your name in my heart
But your silence echoes in my mind
I’ve turned the page
I moved on without you
But somewhere deep inside me
Your love still resides

Left in a state of delirium
I break through this phase
I’m walking alone now
Declaring my space
Coming back to my present life
I leave your memory behind

Even if our love might not have been real
The emotions were true
Despite all that we lived through
Your memory is now a part of me
