BelovedA Poem by MadisonTo be led astray by a lovers whimisical smile, then coldly deserted by that smile
Beloved, beloved, Hold my hand. Take me down the path upon which you walk, Lead me into your world. Brush away my uncertainties, Banish my fears. Beloved, beloved, Take me deeper, Take me farther. Lead me through your black maze, Winding and twisting, neverending. Take me high, Take me low. Beloved, beloved, Don't walk away, Don't leave me stranded in the dark. Lead me to happiness, Show me the light at the end of this vast tunnel. Don't snuff out my hope, My innocence. Beloved, beloved, I walk down this dark, empty path. I try to find my way out, But your roots trap me, Your darkness suffocates me. You suck me back into your world. Your world full of acceptable lies, Full of pain, of sorrow Beloved, beloved, I must depart. My life is ebbing away, My dreams snatched. Darkness ensnaring me, Catching me like a fly in a spiders web. Beloved, beloved. © 2008 MadisonReviews
