Take Me

A short poem that I threw together with random thoughts that hit me.

Take me to a hidden place,
a gentle embrace,
a hidden escape.

Take me to a land without war,
of peace-
of love-
of the freedom you once adored.

Take me from this pain,
of hell,
and free me of the broken-heart I hold so well.

Take me to a hidden place,
to your embrace,
of love,
and of hate.

This is a very simple poem I threw together with random thoughts. It's supposed to feel real and unrefined.

I think you achieved your goal quite well here. Though the poet in me finds my eyes craving more depth of feeling, I understand your decision to leave it at this surface level as a more ethereal piece. I'm sure in doing that many people will be able to identify with it, though they may not have the slightest commonality or know exactly why.
