Bank account in the negatives

Wind chill is higher than normal

but what if there's more for me to say?

Perhaps the paper ran out of space

Guess i'll just dive head first

In all of the drugs, the pills, the craziness

And maybe this all will go away

I haven't been on my meds it days

And maybe it shows

Let me clear my mind first. 

Before this gets worse.

Dina, I read this poem three times, and my mind remains locked onto two words: dizzy and dive. What you’ve implicitly described here is drowning in despair (work, family, debt, etc.) and doubt. Sometimes it feels like we’re choking on too much. At my age, I can identify with this poem (thankfully many years ago), and I’m sure others will say the same.

We use our own language and cope in our ways, but what you’ve expressed here is anxiety most have known at some point in life. We talk ourselves through the struggles, and the best capture and share it in poetry. A good write!
