Chapter 1: Welcome to Sicklemore

Chapter 1: Welcome to Sicklemore

A Chapter by Dina

Sicklemore was a small town next to one of the biggest cities in Connecticut. But there was nothing small about its residents. There was nothing miniscule about the grandiosity that occupied each of the lives of San Crismo's high school students. Olivia Lewis was a town favorite. She was tall for her age. Standing at nearly 6 feet while only in the 8th grade. Olivia was delicate, though her strong and sturdy body might not suggest as much. She was poetic in her appearance and interactions with others. Soft spoken and more of a listener. Though many were often curious to hear her perspective on the never ending obstacles that seemed to pollute the air of Sicklemore. It's almost as if she were media trained, the way Olivia was often able to give the right responses. Responses that disarmed her peers and brought ease to her very disheveled hometown.

A spacey girl, somehow very connected to her body, was unfortunately battling against a very warped clock. Her battle was a private one. One kept away from the watchful eyes of her suburban peers and neighborhood. One that seemed to triple in size once she returned to her home on 119 Ursini Drive. Olivia lived in a cul de sac occupied by primarily Caucasian people. She moved in around 5th grade, since her family had a penchant for changing towns in order to "start fresh". Olivia's dad, Mr. Lewis was a charming, witty, and popular man. His accent and immigrant status did not prevent him from climbing the corporate ladder and attracting friends far and wide. However, Olivia's mother, Mrs. Lewis could be described as the complete opposite. She was a very quiet and observant woman with furrowed eye brows and a low stress tolerance. She presented herself gracefully. Often found wearing designer knock offs, fresh pressed hair, and dewy but natural looking makeup. Physically, Mrs. Lewis can be described as winning the genetic lottery, being 12 years younger than Mr. Lewis and possibly just as wise. Olivia also has a younger brother, Dylan. Dylan was the family favorite though he didn't speak much. He was even taller than Olivia and had a fit and narrow body. Similar to Mrs. Lewis, Dylan had low stress tolerance and could be considered even more introverted than his mother. A tendency Dylan easily got away with being that the Lewis parents were very comfortable being depended on. As two water signs, they were incredibly family oriented and slightly smothering. Dylan, being a fellow water sign, was able to get along with his parents with ease. Leaving Olivia, the only earth sign of the bunch, to feel segregated and left for dead.

On the outside, the Lewis' were the family to envy. But there was always a feeling one would get when speaking with them a bit more. A feeling that everything was not as it seemed. And Joseph Rune was the perfect person to uncover the mystery.
