When the Empress Sings

When the Empress Sings

A Poem by Dina

Spirit, show me who is good
And who lusts for evil
As a little girl I’d speak to you
And watch the rain fall
You showed me things
That no one seemed
To find the need for

So I stuck with you
And in return
You helped the pain go

I sung to you.
Bewildered how
I held the same note,
It captured you.
And in return
You filled me with warmth

Spirit, I am not
The type of girl
Who needs a chain on her
I roam in spirit
I roam on earth
It feels me with wonder

I love with heart
Because of it
I’ve taken some loss
You noticed this
And promised that
The change is in the works

And I’m healing
I am alone no longer,
I can feel it.
The voices all around me
Disappearing
And turning all my lessons into wisdom..

Spirit, I will find my way to you
While in between worlds
While frolicking
And stumbling
On frivolous woes

As long as I can breath,
I promise
I will make the most
of life, and keep you by my side.
I swear it by this lullaby
