Prison

Prison

A Poem by Disregarded
"

I just got accepted at one of the best universities in the world, and I also got a full scholarship for it. But even though everything is going great, I still don't feel any different.

"
As I stay here in this foreign land
I feel washed away as sand,
both drained from sleep and love,
and my soul free as a dove.

Yet with no shackles attached to these wrists of mine
I feel imprisoned by this loathsome time,
even though I try to cry,
no tears come from my tired eye.

Even with all the blessings I have
I am still going mad,
even though I've felt like this in the past
I am sure nothing is here to last.
