Moon of Night

Moon of Night

A Story by Diterling
"

This is the beginning of a complicated story.

"

Fate lay on her side, panting as blood dribbled from her mouth.
A blue-violet bruise formed on the side of her head.

"Get up."

She pulled herself into a sitting position, wincing at the twinges from her aching body.

Again, the back of a hard hand met the front of her face.

More blood.

It was her nose now. It hurt to breathe. She couldn't feel her nose.

"Get up."

"I...can't." She wimpered.
She coughed, feeling blood come up with the harsh air and spit.

"Yes you can... get up now."

Tears came to her eyes.
"...I can't...my body...it hurts..."

Rough hands pulled her to her knees.

"But you loved it when he made you hurt... when he made you scream his name... when he pushed in till you lost yourself..."

"That isn't true!"
She cried, her head failing to stay up.

She was pulled back by the hair.

Firey red eyes met the portion of her eyes that could still work.
"...don't you lie to my face. You're a worthless piece of garbage... I can never trust you..."

The hand raised again.

Fate turned her head and began crying.
Her sobs echoing througout the room.

Nightmare blinked.
His eyes softened slightly.

There was a sound of something hitting the ground.

Fate opened her eyes to see what it was, fearful that something new would attack her.
It was then that she realized that it was her own body being thrown to the ground.

Nightmare had left the room.

She was alone.

Lost.... empty... wounded...

...And alone.
