Angel in the Darkness

Angel in the Darkness

A Poem by Diterling
"

What we want most is not always what is best for us.

"

I cleave to you, though you cause me pain.

Your dark wings folding about me, trapping me, blocking my escape.

I look to your dark eyes.
Is this what you were all along?
No matter...I would never have left you anyway.

A soft angel, sheltered by the wings of a demon.
Such an abomination.
Such irony.

You whisper my name as we dance in the depths of nothing.

Rising...

My wings deteriorating...feathers drifting...
As yours expand with every new height.

I'm bound to you. Unable to leave, no matter the pain.

Untamed...
Unwilling to conform to the still setting around you.

I remain a moth to the flame.
Entranced by your beauty and madness.

Here in your arms.
Entangled in your essance and spirit...
Bonded to you by the chains of fate themselves...

No more doomed a soul... has there ever been as mine.
