Strange thoughts are running through my head
Slowly twisting and turning in each aspect
Silence creeping through my mind
Shifting, shaping, distorting time

I live so simple a life
Repetition is truly mine
Living in silence day to day
Underexposed to light's lasting rays

I reach out a hand to the sky
Grasp the differences I see
But then I realize they won't become mine
And the invisible one will be me

I shrink into shadows with confidence erased
A sunken look comes over my face
Devoid of individuality
I can't see myself high
I open my arms to the sky

With my eyes open,
I admit I at least tried
So to my dreams and reveries, I say goodbye

To all my promises and sorrows and sins,
I say goodbye.....

Accepting the life I've been given with a sigh
