MovedA Poem by DestinyA poem to my daughter
In your presence I'm reminded
Why the fight is worth it No matter how bloody I get No matter if my knees shake I will always move to get to you The days last too long Between when I make my life my own And when you sit back in it The long days catch me Stargazing, hoping you'll see the same constellation Somehow my message tries to get to you Often that's 11pm, far too late to wake you For something so trivial I hope our heartstring plays a sleepy song And your lip curls when you hear it Mine will match The tears well when the scene My eyes behold looks like you and me The mother and fawn, duckling, or kit They all tell me we are connected In the oldest love story ever told And the same story will unfold For eternity And their empathy when we lock eyes Moves me Always moving to you Towards all of us © 2025 DestinyAuthor's Note
