Not appreciating

Taken For Granted

 

Here we are

Nearing the end

School half gone

It’s really over

Thought I could believe

But it takes action

I thought inner feelings

Were all that was needed

Little did I know

You need to prove how you feel

I took everything for granted

Now someone else has you

Thought I could stay the same

And everything would fall into place

I see now I was wrong

I remember that feeling well. There was a guy I liked very much in high school but never said how I truly felt. In the end he would up with someone else and I was left with a broken heart. I liked this one.

Thanks. Ya I wrote this in high school and got it published. This one of those poems that I can say I feel differently about to this day because the guy I wrote it about ended up not being who I thought he was. But I am happy without him.
