I Don't Care!

Why do you pretend to be someone
you're not?
Could it be this is what you were taught?
Why don't you just be who you are?
That will get you far.
You don't have to be a big star,
or drive an expensive car.
I like you just the way you are.

With me, you get what you see,
that's the way it's supposed to be.
I live in reality!

I don't care if you like me or not,
that is how I was taught.

After reading through a couple of times, I started thinking about the song 'Don't Go Changing' by Billy Joel! If we accept a person for who they are; why do they insist on trying to change? I can relate to this poetic piece - nice write my friend ... :-)
