I WeepA Poem by DrifterI weep. Tears dance their salted pirouettes, Etching sorrow along my cherry slopes. My truth finds entry by mortal madness And grows towards Time, so brittle black.
I weep. Even when sorrow fades to numbness And reason stumbles through unseen cracks. When there is discomfort in the moment That tears end with a distant splash.
I weep. My hands refuse to linger here much longer.. Their touch is far too harsh to bear. The thumb will just smear the smoothness And alter the teardrops' courses.
I weep. Because some day I know it will get better And then my mind shall start to forget. The
images will finally choose to blur So I’ll have to pull out the picture again.
