Bandaids and LollipopsA Poem by David ScottWhen we need comfort sometimes...
Bandaids and Lollipops
You have been, are still and will ever be, my comfort. When the knee of life gets skinned, tears drying upon the chaffed cheek of undeserved sorrow, your kindness binds a salve of wellbeing; warm gentle attention is my bandaid of joy. Lessons giving the vaccination of cold hard fact, reality unfairly insisting a needled penetration, immunizing against childish wishes; your smile assuring my lollipop reward. Today it seems impossible, bitter and beyond a gagged reflex, fighting to stomach an unthinkable, undrinkable cup of suffering; still stinging, longing for bandaid comfort and lollipop satisfaction. You have been, are still and always will be, my comfort. © 2015 David ScottReviews
